Wedding shower invite

One of my colleagues at work is getting married soon and I was in charge of drawing the shower invite. I tried to have some fun with Lichtenstein and Kirby (I redrew a Kirby panel and then colored it and added text ala Lichtenstein). I hope folks get it!

B'more Comic Con

I'll be exhibiting at the Baltimore Comic Con but only on Sunday, Oct. 11, at table #48. I hope to have more Xoc #2 printed up, but, again, only a limited number. (And my supply of #1 is running a bit low, too!) I'll also have copies of Spadefoot, Liquid Revolver and probably the new D.C. Conspiracy crime anthology.

SPX highlight

The highlight for me this year at the Small Press Expo was when Chris Staros of Top Shelf bought a shark drawing from my four-year-old son Adam, who was doodling at my table Sunday morning. It was a cool moment for several reasons. First, Adam really loves to draw and he wanted to be there Sunday among everyone. He's kinda shy but really opens up when it comes to drawing. Second, Chris Staros is such as class act; makes me want to buy even more Top Shelf books! Third, I realized Adam is truly the SPX Kid. He's been going to the show since he was born. Some folks have seen that photo of him from '05 crawling around Sunday morning at the show and Harvey Pekar, who was sitting and enjoying a muffin, casting a smile at him. Adam has surpassed me by miles in being hip.

SPX this weekend!

The Small Press Expo is tomorrow and Sunday in sunnny Bethesda, Md.! My mini-comic 'Xoc' is up for an Ignatz Award (show attendees vote on their favorites) and I'll also have a limited number of 'Xoc' #2, which I just finished a few days ago! Hope to see you there! (I'm at table F1.)

Looks like I will indeed have a few copies of the new issue for SPX
